Biography
Daniel Rouhani is currently a medical student at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Originally from Athens, Georgia, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics. Following his undergraduate studies, he completed a clinical research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has a strong interest in the intersection of healthcare innovation, plastic surgery, and art. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Daniel founded ExonScientific, a scientific visualization company aimed at enhancing the communication of scientific discoveries through advanced 3D design. His work has been featured in Forbes and displayed on the covers of leading scientific journals such as Science, Nature, and Cell. He is passionate about integrating 3D computational design into plastic surgery, particularly with a focus on reconstructive and craniofacial applications. In addition, Daniel serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at SYLKE Inc., a medical device company pioneering the use of silk fibroin biomaterials for wound healing. In this role, he oversees all research and development operations, manages clinical trials, and leads research collaborations with various academic centers across the United States.
